The Hive Nightclub in Sandpoint Idaho was a bold and innovative venue for the city’s music and arts cultural environment. The club was in a historic but generic brick building and the owner wanted something contemporary, dramatic, and festive.

Our interface with the client and his design-build team developed a sculptural architectural interface with the building. The design was based on the honeycomb motif . The project evolved into a 100 ft by 18 ft architectural "Crown" .

The sculpture consists of a series of hexagon tubes of Aluminum plate with insets of 1” thick Dalle de Verre glass hexagons with internal LED lighting. The “Honey” colored glass lights of the Main street of Sandpoint is now an iconic architectural art and sculptural landmark.
